Voir DeHum™-ELE dehumidification and defogging solution integrated into the rail transit detection and monitoring system

Recently, Voir’s DeHum™-ELE dehumidification and anti-fog solution has officially been integrated into rail transit detection and monitoring systems, providing reliable protection for high-speed trains, subways, light rails, and other rail vehicles.

The track inspection and monitoring system uses vision‑based technologies to sense the catenary and the surrounding track environment, enabling real-time assessment of pantograph–catenary interaction and timely maintenance; the clarity of the monitoring camera directly impacts safety.

The rail train runs north–south, where temperature differences and climate variations are extreme—hot during the day and cold at night—leading to severe condensation on the inner walls of the track‑monitoring camera lenses. Voir’s patented ELE electro‑dehumidifier DGL04, based on the Voir® SEDM solid‑state electrode membrane, applies electricity to electrolyze and remove excess moisture from inside the pantograph monitoring device, allowing it to escape. Within 10 hours, a 2‑liter chamber can reduce relative humidity from 70% to 20%, eliminating condensation and keeping the monitoring lens clear.

Technical engineer, Engineer Liu, said: “Compared with security surveillance and LiDAR, visual monitoring systems for rail transit operate in far more complex environments. In addition to dehumidification efficiency and salt‑spray testing, we have also conducted outdoor exposure, 24‑hour cold‑air exposure, and water‑spraying tests to ensure the ELE electrostatic dehumidifier is fully suitable for such conditions.”
