The interior will quickly fill with the extinguishing agent, causing the pressure to rise. This creates a pressure differential between the inside and outside of the relief window or panel; when the differential reaches a certain threshold, the relief window will be blown open by the airflow.
This ensures that the extinguishing agent maintains its optimal concentration while preventing excessive indoor pressure from causing structural damage to the facility.
