Safety Battle! Voir adds an extra layer of protection to Puyi Battery safety.

Release time:2016-06-13

On May 26, 2016, the 12th China International Battery Technology Exchange Fair and Exhibition (CIBF) concluded successfully at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center. At the event, Puyi Battery unveiled its safe power battery pack, which garnered unanimous praise from visitors for its enhanced energy efficiency and safety.

In recent years, as new-energy vehicles have continued to develop, public attention to the safety of power batteries has grown steadily. With safety and energy efficiency in mind, Puyi Battery reached out to Voir Technology, seeking a protective solution that could provide an additional layer of safety for its batteries. After numerous discussions, Voir’s technical team, taking into account the specific characteristics of Puyi’s battery packs, built upon the EPV platform to design a recyclable explosion-proof vent valve. Because the entire protection process involves achieving air‑pressure equilibrium, releasing pressure to prevent explosions, and then restoring balanced ventilation—repeating this cycle—the Voir team subsequently named the product the EPVS Balance Valve.

The all-new EPVS balance valve, distinct from both the Voir battery vent valve and the EPV explosion‑proof valve, represents a seamless integration of their features. Constructed entirely of metal and equipped with an internal spring mechanism, it leverages the energy of the spring—driven by pressure fluctuations within the battery pack—to equalize abnormal pressures, thereby achieving explosion‑proof or explosion‑suppression performance and enhancing the overall safety of the battery pack. The EPVS balance valve offers several key advantages: ① Its spring‑based design enables cyclical venting, pressure balancing, and explosion‑relief; ② This cyclic explosion‑prevention process is safe, loss‑free, and more cost‑effective (a breakthrough compared to the EPV); ③ Its metal housing provides excellent durability and high structural strength; ④ It boasts a compact footprint with exceptional adaptability; and ⑤ Its threaded mounting ensures quick and convenient installation. Most notably, unlike the EPV explosion‑proof valve, the EPVS can repeatedly perform pressure‑balancing and explosion‑prevention without sustaining damage under specified pressure variations. This not only elevates the safety of Puyi battery packs but also reduces explosion‑protection costs, allowing more budget to be allocated toward further improving other performance attributes or quality aspects of Puyi batteries.

The development of Puyi Battery has instilled great confidence in the Puyi team. Through dedicated research and a steadfast commitment to safety, Puyi has established a distinct advantage in battery safety. The company firmly believes that, as new energy vehicles and connected‑car technologies continue to gain traction in the market, this advantage will steadily accumulate, translating into competitive strength and enabling Puyi to lead the industry.
