2023.10.30 Huizhou Voir Technology’s VOIR® water-injection fire suppression port solution for the energy storage sector can extinguish fires quickly and precisely when water injection is required in energy storage cabinets.

As the energy storage market rapidly expands, safety concerns are becoming increasingly acute. Recently, a fire broke out in the Peter Matilet district of Saint-Esprit, France, with approximately 20 firefighters on scene. At the time of the incident, 400 lithium‑ion battery storage units were in operation, underscoring the growing importance of addressing safety issues.

The Voir® ESP-M485 water-injection fire suppression port is mounted on the surface of the energy storage cabinet, remaining fully sealed under normal conditions with an IP69 protection rating. In the event of a fire, a fire hose can be quickly aligned with the fire suppression marking to open and initiate water injection for extinguishing, ensuring rapid water-based fire suppression within a very short time. Compared with traditional fire suppression ports:

1. Pressure‑activated opening (55–70 kPa at ambient temperature of 25±5°C), enabling rapid water injection for fire suppression.
2. Smaller in size and highly heat-resistant, ensuring that the water‑injection channel does not melt and seal shut.
3. Compared with traditional systems, it offers faster response times and a simpler, more straightforward operation in the event of an abnormal fire alarm.
4. Concealed design that does not compromise the appearance, with quick‑release locking for the fire‑extinguishing label.
5. With over 500,000 cumulative installations, it complies with the European standard EN 62133‑1:2017 / EN 62133‑2:2017.

The VOIR® water‑injection fire‑extinguishing port design prioritizes extinguishing speed and fire safety, ensuring that all operations—from activation to confirmation of successful suppression—are conducted at a safe distance, thereby enhancing the safety of energy storage cabinets and reducing fire‑fighting risks.
