Voir® Waterproof, Sound-Transmitting, and Breathable Material
After exposure to water, electronic components inside devices such as smartphones and headphones can short‑circuit, degrading sound quality and display performance—and in severe cases, causing permanent damage that renders the device unusable and beyond repair. Smart wearables have become an indispensable part of daily life, enjoying widespread popularity. However, sudden immersion in water or dust ingress can lead to equipment malfunctions.
Voir has developed the Voir® Por-Ac waterproof and sound-permeable material based on ePTFE, providing reliable protection for wearable acoustic devices and preventing them from being affected by liquids, contaminants, and dust. It offers tailored protection solutions for both shallow-water and deep-water environments, meeting customers’ diverse requirements for waterproofing, sound transmission, and pressure equalization.
Compared with traditional mesh fabric (IP54), Voir’s waterproof, sound-permeable material not only maintains acoustic performance but also withstands more demanding environments (IP68+). Moreover, the material “breathes,” using pressure equalization to mitigate sound distortion and quality issues caused by bias in acoustic devices and condensation within the housing.
